A very special family

Some of you may have seen on my "About Me" page that I was recently commisioned by this wonderful group Children's Rights to photograph this family.  The images will be used on their website as well as in promotional materials.  I was happy to help and so inspired by this amazing family.  I won't go into a lot of personal information but suffice to say that Miss Lavada gives new meaning to the word "Busy Mom".  Thanks so much for inviting me into your home.  Hope you enjoy the images.

 

Stop the presses!

That's about what I've felt like today.  My computer went crazy on me last night... Long story short, I have spent the day doing recovery and maintanence.  I HAVE NOT LOST ANY FILES but have come perilously close a couple times. 

The point of this post is that if you are waiting on deliveries or revisions or galleries to be posted, it will be a couple more days.  I have not gotten a lick of anything else done today and won't until I do some "Spring Cleaning" to my hard drives to prevent a catrastrophe.  Thanks for understanding.

Look Ma...Full Sun!

Hi everyone, I'm back from Chicago.  For those of you who left messages and emails, I will be getting back to you asap this week.  Please don't panic if you don't hear from me tomorrow.  I promise I will get to you-there is only one of me (: 

   I had a lot of fun spending the weekend with 30 or so other children's photographers from all over (even Australia!).  And the best part is...I learned to shoot in full sun.  I can't say that I'm ready to go do a session in the middle of the desert yet, but I do feel like I can at least do some of a session in full sun if need be.  Here are some of my favorite shots from the weekend.  There are lots more but I need to get back to work.  Jenni and Curtis, your gallery is next-I promise (:

This is Miss G.  She was the cutest little thing you ever saw.  Just 5 years old and working the camera like nobody's business. 

And next was miss C.  She was a very well composed, beautiful 13 year old.  Yes, you read that right--13!!! (G. and C. are both professional Ford models). These aren't full sun, they were taken in Audrey's natural light loft studio but I had to share anyway.

Chicago Here We Come

I am leaving in the morning to attend Audrey's workshop. I'm so excited.  I get to meet Carrie Sandoval, Grace O'Connor, and I think maybe Stacy from Blue Candy (all from my "favorites" list to your left).  And what beautiful Fall color to shoot.  I can't wait.  I will not have access to my computer but I will be checking voicemail as often as possible so leave me a message and I will return your call as soon as I can.  I'll be back in town late Monday night.  Until then, here are some sneak peeks for a couple recent sessions.

America's next top model?

I how I look forward to my sessions with Miss Claudia!!  Her mom has brought her to me twice now.  She is a little hambone (:  And this time I was ale to get a few good ones of her little bro.  (Last time he covered his face when he saw the camera!).  I must say though, that Miss Claudia's Dad was harder than any toddler!  Ha Ha, you KNOW it's true, Jim (:   Enjoy the sneak peeks.

What a little sweetie she was.  And she loved twirling her dress.  She was a hard egg to crack though (:  Here is some of her family also.  I hope you all had a safe trip.

Promises Promises

  Okay, so I promised many of you that I would have sneak peeks up in a few days. Well...uh...it's been more than a few days and I'm sorry.  I have been working like a dog (What DOES that mean anyway?).  Just one look at my laundry room and you would know that it's Fall family portrait time (:  ANYWAY...Here's another promise I will try to keep: If you have had your session on or before Monday (the 2nd) then I will have your gallery up before I leave to go to my workshop in Chicago next weekend.  Keep in mind that I don't want to rush through anyone's session so if it ends up being longer-please forgive me.
