An idea is born...

Ever since I posted the "Wow" post, I have been overwhelmed with responses from photographer friends saying how beautiful what Mom wrote was and what a great idea it is to ask this question:  "What do you hope to convey to  your children through these images?  When they look at these images with their children, what do you hope they see?"  So, it made me realize that THIS is what sets custom photographers apart.  You tell me what you need and I give it to you (:  I decided to start a new little thing based on the popularity of that post.  I will start out the blog posts with the quote from the parents answering this question.

I already "sneak peeked" these 2 families but I wanted to do it again with this new idea in mind.

Sydney's family:  Her daddy wrote the sweetest thing.  I know it's going to be a great session when I get answers like this (hopefully this won't embarrass him too much)

"I hope my children see what I see when I look at family pictures from my childhood.  I hope they see the love and pride that we have for each other as a family.  I hope they see happiness, pride and the love in our eyes and know that this was a special time in our lives.  I hope they see that there was nothing better for us than just being together."

Next is the Nick man:

"I want to capture Nick's joy-he's constantly doing things that make us laugh.  He's also full of energy so I would like the photos to have a sense of movement and show his dramatic personality."

And next is the S. clan:

"I hope to convey that we were a loving family that had fun. I want them to see through the pictures how much they were loved and how much their parents loved them."

What a great question to ask and what amazing, stunning responses you're getting from these parents! They gave me goosebumps. :) I love that you're including them with the photos, too.

Fantastic idea, thanks for sharing...and you caught each session perfectly!

Wonderful Idea! I am definently going to ask my parents. I really think it makes them think about what they want, and it helps to connect you with the family too.

Beautiful idea! I've been trying to find ways to convey what makes my business different than the studio in the mall... and you found a way to show it! Thank you for sharing. Your work is amazing.

What a wonderful post. You know, even I, as an outsider, can see/feel the love all these parents have for their children.

That's a great idea - both asking that question in the first place and now posting the answers on your blog. I think you really captured what each family was looking for too! Thanks for inspiring me with your photos!
