Would it be weird....

..if I hung this HUGE at MY house?  Ha ha ha.  Seriously.  This makes me smile just looking at it. 

 

This family is so sweet and Mom is an eloquent writer too.  When asked on the pre-session survey what she hopes her children see in these images she wrote:

"We make a point to emphasize to our kids that they are each others' best friends and at the end of the day, family is all you have.  We enjoy one another.  And I know as they get older, they will want their space, but I don't ever want them to forget this time in their lives."

Well, C, I hope I captured that for you. (:  Can't you just feel the joy and closeness in this family? 

 

 

Tristan and Trevi

  I started photographing this family when Tristan was only 3 months old.  He has grown so much since then!  He's now almost 2 and has a beautiful new baby sister Trevi.  Their mommy is a photographer too www.christineguest.com  It's always flattering when other photographers trust me with their memories. Famous smiling baby

I have been lucky in 08 and have gotten quite a few smiling newborns.  But, my most "famous"' smilie baby was Miss Reece from 7/06.  I still get comments about this shot almost 2 years later.

Well, here she is at almost 2....

And......here is her new baby sister Rylee.  Isn't she precious!  She looks so much like her big sis did.

 

Update on Now Seating...

HA!  I love her! She has been fielding phone calls and emails since we opened the calendar.  However, she will be out of town this weekend and would like to confirm some dates with some of you.  If you have given her dates and not secured your date with payment, please call one of use before Fri so you don't lose your date.  Dates are booked on a first come first serve basis and weekends are going particularly fast as are all Oct and late Sept dates.

Now Seating....

  We have opened the Fall/Holiday calendar for bookings as of today.  Please contact Kim at eyesmiles_booking@yahoo.com for scheduling information.  You will need to decide which session type you would like prior to booking your session since certain session types are done on certain dates.  You can see samples of the Session type "Loft", "Playdate" and "Fieldtrip" under the portfolio section of the main website www.eyesmilesphotography.com   Last year, the Fall dates (Sept and Oct) filled very quickly so book early to ensure your spot.  October 17th is the last session date of 2008.  Also, the Summer calendar is now open as well.

Happiness is....

...a warm puppy.  Well, according to Charles Schulz it is.  To me, happiness is having someone go along with my every crazy idea, beautiful and cooperative (for the most part-wink wink) kids, a beautiful sunset, temperature near 70 and amazing clothing lines to shoot.  Here are some from a commercial/branding shoot I did for Petunia.  They sell lots of brands but they also have a really cool brand that is their own designs.  The dress with the little birds on it is one of theirs.

...for little girls.  Is there anything sweeter than a family of all girls?

And I have proof.  This is one of my favorite families. I have photographed them many times and each time is a treat.  This is Lisa's beautiful family.  She packages up all of my client orders all pretty and hand delivers them. 

My kind of family portrait

I just love the simplicity of these kind of portraits.  While it may not be traditional (and I do have some with mom and dad's faces too), I love the story this tells...
